Non military m1038??

Post by bantamtrailer » Sat May 27, 2017 12:40 pm

Hello all I am about to trade for what I thought was a ex-military Humvee, the truck is solid white, including interior (you can see some od paint under white), has FIRE decals and the state of Mississippi seal. I figured the truck was given to them after its military service, however I recently found two adds which I believe are from the same seller, which have identical trucks to mine in them, stating that they were never military issue. Is it possible the state bought these trucks straight from AM General? Any input is appreciated, Thanks

Anything might happen, but that is a Humvee that was painted white.

A bunch of white m1038 were sold off by GP last year in Mobile. They are Miss dept of forestry ex military surplus. They usually will have an extra data plate that looks military with the Miss dept of forestry info. I don't believe they would have been purchased directly. Do they have the military data plate with serial number?

The ones I saw in Mobile were " rough " early models with 8 bolt wheels and bias tires.

I purchased a "green" one for parts truck.

Yours looks just like the ones I saw.

IMHO, you can do much better on GP for your $ with a cleaner truck that still has the winch and modern radials with 12 bolt wheels
