Re: M1165 Build
It looks like you haven't done the roof insulation yet. It's been my experience that some of those panels have to go in before the roof is bolted down to the isolators as some don't have cutouts to be able to slide them in afterwards and some have none, such that your nuts will be behind the insulation and not visible from the inside. Again strange design and I think not complete.

Re: M1165 Build
Yes, no padding yet,and yes crappy design. The padding could have gone in earlier but I chose to wait. I wanted to make sure everything fit and that I did not have cut the padding to get to nuts that needed adjusting. Some holes needed to be re-drilled (reemed out for fitment). The inner spal liners are installed which is done at time of setting roof and outer roof. I will remove the tach bracket and not install visors until padding is in. My padding has the notches cut (and or I will make notches) so with 2 people they should go in without exposing any of the nuts. There is a quite few illogical items to these truck being assembled. The padding ring retainers are joke. I typically see mic's and other items hung from them, bending them down to a worthless retaining position. I also still have to plug the turret hole. I have not done that yet so I have lighting inside the cab to work. Else the shadows make it very dark inside.

Re: M1165 Build
Lots of pans installed but they are not as bad as the front ac/heat unit. Transmission jack works great to set pans. Enjoy.
Next up is AC/Heat unit, air cleaner housing, pull vacuum on ac system, fluids, batteries, seats, prime and start. Doors later.

Re: M1165 Build
Thanks. Another challenging build it is.
Set ac/heat assembly after connecting all lines. Then pulled vacuum (held overnight) to remove moisture and check for leaks. Then stood back and finally looked at truck. Making progress.

Ted, what’s your guess on added weight of second roof and armor in the truck so far?

Wired in the de-icer but did not mount permanently yet. Changed the leads from terminal to cannon m-series. Routed wires to dash area. One to ignition switch, one to ground and one with cb to power.

Re: M1165 Build
Spent a few hours setting the seats and rear condenser covers. The rr cover required heat to form it behind rr aluminum pan and fuel filler neck. Plus I took so front/rear/under carriage pictures. Moving on air cleaner, splash shields, tires and then hood stuff. Soon it will go vroooom!

Ted, what did you use to weight down the chassis when installing Your springs?

Re: M1165 Build
In fronts, I use a ratcheting chain binder and connect to lower a arm and lift tower. Safe and easy. Rear I have a big bar that simulates a lift tower and use the chain binder to compress.
Always be safe. I place a 1"flex bar inside coil and upper perch to keep spring nested. Once secured, I then dlude shock and lower mount in.
Mounted tires and am working on good. Cleaned shop too! Pix later.
