Location of lower rifle mount on floor

Post by icentropy » Sat Aug 04, 2012 10:23 am

Hi all. Been working on my truck this weekend. Got the second antenna mount installed on the drivers side sponsoon and I'm installing my m16 rifle mounts. Working on the passenger side right now. The upper one is pretty easy but the lower one is a bit tricky due to the fact my truck is/was a Hummer and the floor is all gummed up with sealant and a healthy layer of truckbed liner so rivets are buried. Could someone post a clear picture of the lower(butt) rifle mount so i can see exactly where it's supposed to be installed on the passenger floor pan.

Thanks in advance.

Do you have the floor padding for the front driverside and passanger side.
If you do or if your planning on installing it it will help you place it in the correct space.
I'll try and take a few pictures.

Hi, I don't have the floor padding and don't plan on installing any. A picture of the lower mount showing it's location on the floor would be perfect. If you don't mind doing both sides (if you have a mount on the driver's side as well) I'd appreciate it.

It looked like it would be up on the angled surface but when mounted there the AR's 16.5" barrel isn't long enough and it clamps on the flash hider (and that's with the stock all the way open? so i'm thinking i'm guessing the location wrong.

I've got a few photos I took a while back of the mounts in my truck... they were designed for 20" bbl M16A2 though, so an M4 won't fit in them. A civilian M4 w/16.5" bbl will fit with the stock extended, but will clamp just below the suppressor.

You can also use only the upper clamp and place the stock on the floor... that'll let it mount higher, but make dismounting a challenge.

Lol, thanks. Truck has undergone major changes since that 3rd pic... wasn't even titled or registered for street use when I took that. You'll see in pic #2 that the air restrictor gauge, starter lever, light switch, and horn button have all been replaced.

Hey,
Where can these mounts be found at? also, do they make mounts for the rear seats?
Thanks!

I really should just send you a comprehensive list, since you seem to have everything I want!!
I'll send you a PM, as I have a couple of questions about the fording intake.

Here's the front parts and the back parts....
I forgot to put the other front butt plate bracket in photo.
The upper backseat parts are for the B pillar on a slant back. one extra is in photo.
The front parts that mount on the A pillar are adjustable.

Hello 86humv

I am looking for the front bottom mount you show a picture of. Do you have anymore of these or know the part number so I can find it? I can't find any bottom mounts anywhere.

Thank you in advance for your time.

Vic
