2017 Fall Meet at Tower Park update

Post by Kurt Lesser » Tue Aug 01, 2017 7:01 am

For those of you who plan on attending the upcoming Fall Meet at Tower Park here's the latest information that we have. There are still a few campsites and cabins available as of August 1st but the deadline for reservations is approaching quickly. Please contact JoAnn at mamalesser@yahoo.com to make your reservations if you haven't already done so and would like to attend the meet. She will then notify Tower Park and at that point you can make your deposit. The MVCC does not collect any money for these reservations. Deposits all need to be completed by August 17th to insure you have your site. After August 17th any unreserved sites will be available to the public.

Thank you,

Kurt Lesser

Thanks Kurt. Lets hope the MVers can take every campsite in Campgrounds 2 and 3! For readers who are not aware, having Jo-Ann as our Wagonmaster (Wagonmistress?) assigning us campsites for this event keeps the reservation office from placing non-hobby people in our midst. This is what she has done for us at our April swap meets but not in the Fall until this year. Thanks Jo-Ann! With the past Fall meets being centered in Campground 4 where the family attractions are, the public was always asking the reservationists for sites in "our" area. This Fall it should be all MV folks in our campground IF people take the remaining few cabins and campsites. Time to make a decision people!

This is a great time to thin the parts and militaria clutter in the garage prior to winter, trading unused items to others for their projects or collections. A campsite rental is a much better deal than tables at a commercial vendor show! New participants should be aware that anybody renting a campsite can put out items for sale with no fee, just their campsite rental. We have no common space for vendors, so commuters from home or hotel with sales items can only display them in a friend's campsite. If anybody wants to find someone with extra campsite space, consider running a classified ad in the next newsletter to ask the question. A camper might reply with a suggestion of sharing the rent. MVCC members can run classified ads in the newsletter for free.

Speaking of sales ads, it should go without saying (it won't) that with an event coming up a seller can offer to deliver the item to Tower Park to save shipping costs.

The day user fee has been waived for our group, and there is no charge for parking along the levee road which is immediately next to our campgrounds with stairs or ramps to walk back and forth.

Will one of these show up? No not Carl - the PBR!

Do you know there are two PBRs in the Bay Area?

Any word if Jellystone has an issue with driving Mules around the campground? Thought I saw that they will rent you a golf cart.

Mules are part of the MV hobby. We drive MVs around the campgrounds where we go.

ATTENTION!!

Fellows, we're coming down to the wire and TP has let us know that there are several of you who still do not have deposits on your sites. Please pass the word around that this needs to be taken care of right away or the park could put non-members in those sites and we'd like to keep campground 2 and 3 for MVers.

I made a few minor edits to the event listing on the Events forum. If you want to send event info to anybody, send them a link to that post, not the ones on the MVCC forum, because there are several here and too much info for most people. I will put all updates and news on the post on the Events forum.

I also asked Dave to OK publishing the same info on www.MVCCNews.net. When it gets up there, that's the best place to send interested people.

Couple updates:

Contrary to previous info, there will be no charge to use the pools in Campground 4. Both are heated. If you want to do that, go to the office and request a pool wristband. I was told there is no fee.

Rosa's Restaurant will be cooking burgers in CG2 from 11 until supplies run out. Also serving beer until around 5 pm.

If you don't have a space or cabin reserved, Jo-Ann reported to day there are some availabilities in our campground, so come on out! Make sure you get our group discount. Any questions, find Jo-Ann in the vicinity of campsite 100.
