command car project for sale

This is a 1/2 ton, serial number 4119 9006. Located in San Francisco Bay Area. It is not a radio car.

A previous owner dissembled the body very completely, then blasted and yellow primed it. Thus its condition is obvious. Not perfect, but with the exception of normal dings the body is as straight and rust free as you will ever find, needing possibly a small amount of shrinking on the left quarter panel and the tailgate, some attention to the hat channel at the top left of the rear seat, and the reinstallation of the instrument panel.

The suspension and wheels remain in place, so the unit is movable on its mostly flat tires. The balance of the running gear is removed, but included either from this unit or another. An engine is included, certainly needing a rebuild, and the number would almost certainly be incorrect. There is welding to the front of the frame cross member. Probably fixable, or another crossmember is included if you want it.

Seat frames, inner windshield frame, top panel above the windshield and some other parts of the top bows are included. Hood, grill, fenders and headlight buckets are in decent shape. Condition of the steering gear is unknown, since it is disconnected. A radiator, condition unknown, is included.

Major parts needed would include the instruments, lights, possibly the front bumper, seat cushions and the normal restoration items such as tires, brakes, glass, wiring, brake lines, etc.

Still, a great deal of the difficult work has been done in the blasting and disassembly of the body and its components.

Restoration projects should seldom be purchased on pictures. Ask me how I know. If you are truly interested you should either inspect it yourself or find a trusted friend to do so. Price is $9,500.00. 707 965-2710
