Will a Zenith model 29W14 work for WC51?

Post by thunder37 » Sat Nov 04, 2017 6:35 pm

Guys,

I need to replace my WC51 Zenith Model 29 carb with another one. I found several NOS on Ebay but don't know if they will work.

They are listed as:

Model 29W14 Hercules tag number 11090 Hercules carburetor. 3 15/16 center to center mounting with 1 7/8 bore, 3 bolt flat air horn and a adjustible jet

Model 29W14 Waukesha 1953 6 cylinder 525 140GKB, pn 11454 , 54045

Will these work okay or will I have to modify linkages and other stuff?

Just curious...

Thanks!

Brent

For what it's worth, I have two Zenith Model 29's that are completely different in how the mounting flanges are orientated. I was told one type was for a Scout Car and one was for the early WC's. Someone on here should know the difference. I'm thinking the Scout Car had a Hercules engine and is configured just a little bit differently than the WC's.

Good luck!
