WTK: combat wheels - tire sizes

Post by kettenkrad » Fri Oct 27, 2017 6:13 pm

Getting ready to restore a set of combat wheels and put them on my 1/2 ton CC. Yes I know it's incorrect , but they I think they look better than the tiny wheels it came with. What I want to know is what size tires can I put on the combat wheels? What's the biggest?

9.00x16 NDTs were stock, 11.00x16 Michelin LAV radial tires will fit using radial lowboy tubes if you can still find the tires, Lucas Tire still has 10.50x16 directional tires at $300+ each plus shipping. Your already marginal braking capabilities will be degraded with the larger tires, ask me how I know.

I have Michelins on my M37 and WM300 and I can stop on a dime. If I get 100 feet advance notice to do so. You learn quickly to plan ahead.
