where to get wc half ton knee action shock rubber bushings
want to replace the rubber bushings that go in the arms below the knee action type shocks in my WC 1/2 ton. the rubber doesn't look like anything too exotic. don't want to buy pricey "kits" just the rubber. any sources?

Well I got some NOS and they are crap; rubber is hard as a rock and there's no way they want to go in the arms. they are just too old.
SO DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE TO GET THE CORRECT SIZE RUBBER BUSHINGS EQUIVALENT?

Try these guys, they did a great job on the front shocks for my Chevy.

John and Vintage Power Wagons, also have a lot of new parts made up.
Check with them and see what they have.

I just got NOS kits from MWM. John advised me you would have to grind off the outer rib on one side to get them in, but there is no way for it to move one its in place. Each kit comes with two bushings, sleeves and bolts/nuts for $10.

I simply cut them in half, and push in from each side! Works well...philbrinson wrote:I just got NOS kits from MWM. Re: where to get wc half ton knee action shock rubber bushin
I appreciate the replies. yes I appreciate the two obvious vendors and they are my first stop for all dodge parts but they have NOS.
but these NOS bushings are too old. I tried cutting them in half as well figuring they would tap in. just shattered them even with a plastic hammer. call me anal but I don't want busted and ugly on my rig.
UPDATE I actually found a place that makes new made in the USA replacement bushings. will do a writeup when they come in

Perhaps Jeep shocker rubbers would be a cheap alternative, they are a two piece installation and would be recent production. May have to be reworked a little, don't know, haven't had to try them on a Dodge.

steelrubber.com has new rubber bushings that install easy as cake. will take you longer to get the old brittle stuff out. you'll still need to reuse the metal hardware or do like I did; use the metal bits from the NOS repair kit parts but chuck the hard bushings.

Is this what you purchased here for $9.50 each? I have to go down this route as well.

Re: where to get wc half ton knee action shock rubber bushings
My concern with the old NOS bushings is that the rubber is extremely brittle. It wont take much up and down pressure on the bushings via the copper insert and I fear they will begin to crush-disintegrate. I am going with some new one's
