Obviously not mine, but if the description is true then talk about a real 'barn' find!

Canadian post WWII surplus back when buyers purchased them to strip bolts, wire, hardware, etc. This one was run periodically. The time has now arrived to cash in on the investment. The aviation magazines have featured this gem for the past 60 years.

I would say the word “mint” actually is appropriate in this case!

I wonder where in Canada it is and how far from Buffalo, NY where it was made? Seems to be an undisclosed location.

That is the famous George Maude P-40. Google that name you can read all about it, a good story. My favorite P-40 story is Grainger Taylor's. He built a Warhawk from junkyard parts then was abducted by aliens.

I checked and most insurance companies would require a guy to have 100 hours in a T-6 before offering coverage. Does anyone have a T-6 or l know anyone that has a T-6 that I could buy some time in?

I'm also going to ask about with the CAF.

I believe the P-40 will need a complete inspection and overhaul before it will be airworthy.

Definitely needs to be looked at by an A&P mechanic who has an IA on their certificate.

Regretfully, I’m a little short of the asking price at this time. Maybe I need to restore and sell a few of my jeeps...or wait until I’m a senior Captain over at AA.

Well, someone hacked off the time capsule's wings in 1974 and put some new ones on. External markings look to have been dicked with as well. I guess the seller would tell you that in person.
