Re: Very Rare GMC AFWX-345
Wow !!!
You are not kidding, that is a rare bird !
A February 1941 Army Search Light Truck !!
I hope the reserve is met and someone saves this Quadcab GMC 6x6 !!!!!
I can see that with searchlights mounted on the rear.
You can take your whole searchlight crew with you in the cab, awesome vehicle !!
Good luck to whoever buys it, it would look great at the Fort MacArthur Museum in California with their search light battalion
If someone knows anyone there, let them know about this asap !!
Don't let this one become a street rod custom, as the seller plans to do if it doesn't sell !!!!!

Re: Very Rare GMC AFWX-345
Just out of curiosity, and I have no info so i cant answer my own question-
He says 1409 built. This is serial number 1417?
Am I misreading something or is the info wrong?
Cheers,
Ian.

Production numbers usually start at 1001; not at 1.

Re: Very Rare GMC AFWX-345
In a production contract this small, it might be unit #417. I am not familiar with the model enough to know if there might have been variations that would have caused some trucks to be built out of sequence. I would guess that they were built in order...
