Anyone know of a source of paint to paint my faux Kubel?

Re: Need some Paint for a Kubel
I've read of accounts over on steelsoldiers where MV owners over there brought their paint at places like lowes or home depot. I've always purchased my paint from the likes of Rapco or Army Jeep Parts. But for the most part, I'm messing with US MVs.pvtcook wrote:Anyone know of a source of paint to paint my faux Kubel?

You Matt I think I'm going to by a small bottle from a model shop and take it to a automotive shop and let them scan that.
Thanks

What color are you trying to match? I tried the color match thing with the ferret using automotive paint. Color was spot on but the paint was of piss poor quality. Here's a link to Rapco's paint section. This color shade # 30257 may be a passable shade for panzergelb (panzer yellow)? http://www.rapcoparts.com/30eayepotave.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'm trying to match some German paint. I need the olive green, dark brown, and dark yellow.

Re: Need some Paint for a Kubel
Are you sure that the P.O. was 100% accurate in his color selection? Meaning: are the colors on there dead on for historical accuracy or close enough? As after all, it's still just a type 181 "thing". Another thought as I sit here, typing this, You may want to try one of the axis reenactor forums. I'm sure someone on ther would have the modern paint code cross reference numbers that you need.pvtcook wrote:I'm trying to match some German paint. Matt no the po didn't use the correct color. They are close but not correct. Erfurt, 44 has the mustard yellow that I need but that's all. Don't have the other two color. Also I need more than a spray can for the mustard yellow. It's my base coat. I appreciate your help though.
