I wonder if anyone can help me please?
The starter motor solenoid has started to stick.
This isn't regular sometimes I can turn the key and she fires up but I can also have to have 4+ goes as I just get a "click".
The battery is healthy and the alternator is charging it well.
The starter motor works fine once engaged.
Was the solenoid common to other makes/models or do I have to get it repaired?
If there is anyone who knows of a place that does rebuilds or a supplier of reconditioned starters& solenoids over here then the contact details would be appreciated.
If the repair is fairly straight forward I don't mind having a go myself as I did this on the solanoid of a Ford Capri may years ago.
Any advice and suggestions will be very much appreciated,
Bern

You answered your own question....also in Sigma & many other Mitsubishi/Chrysler products of that time, no doubt. Later model Diesel same profile though...Bern said: Engine = Astron 2.4 (same as was used in the Colt Gallant).

Arty,
Thanks for such a quick and helpful reply.
Over here none of the Mitsi Jeeps are officially recognised by Mitsubishi UK which makes the search for suitable parts that bit more interesting. However as you say other models of the era are a starting point. e.g. I broke the Thermostat housing last year and fitted one from a Starion bought from my local breakers. Cheers for the reminder.
