Don't know an Andy in New York but if u r a newbie when it comes to jeeps may be good to take a few pics and share them on this forum to make sure u r not buying a CJ2A that is painted army green. Check out Andy's pedigree to see if he is a G member or member of a military vehicle club to verify he knows exactly what he is selling. Best wishes; Leo

grabar,

If you scroll down a wee bit from this, you will see a jeep that is for sale in Texas I believe. Look over the photos closely to see what may or may not be missing from the jeep "Andy" is supposedly selling or has possession of. One word of advice though is the title issue. Make sure the title is valid and matches what is on the jeep. No clear title, I wouldn't buy it or even spend the money to go look at it. I have been burned before and had to end up parting out a good jeep because the title was a fake document and didn't match the frame/VIN number on the jeep.

For what it is worth,

I know him; just make sure you get everything advertised. He deals in jeeps and he knows what they are; he won't sell you a cj claiming it to be ww2.

It could be Andy Bag of Doughnuts. He's a goodfellow in the New York city crime family, the Baritones. Andy Bog of Doughnuts got his nickname from always stopping by the local bakery for a bag on his way to a "meeting". Nothing serious on his sheet, some juvi stuff and some minor pinches for fencing stolen goods.
He was suspected in a hijacking of military surplus jeeps, but nothing stuck. He is sometimes referred to as The Teflon Doughnut for that reason. He runs an auto body shop that specializes in olive green off road vehicles and it is suspected of being a chop shop. Andy often sells parts and vehicles that "fell off a truck". Often times, the truck is a CCKW or G506. Need a jeep with a clear title? Forget about it!

Don't know if this is the Andy you are thinking about in NY. But, it's a small state so there can't be too many.

I have been to Andy's property. He has been collecting and trading jeeps for over 30 years. He let me swing by on a road trip and showed me around his property for about an hour. I would trust that whatever he is selling you is the real deal, but remember the best he does keep for his private collection of some 30 or 40 jeeps. If you do go visit be warned, no cell service for the last three miles to his house outside Woodstock, NY.

I have also been to Andy's property about two and half hours south of me. It was about six years ago and he also showed me around the property. Lots of Jeeps and parts. A good resource.
I was looking for my first jeep and he hooked me up with someone else he knew was selling and I bought their jeep.
