Holy hell, I just asked a question on what makes this rare and everything spontaneously combusted. Drama. Have a beer keyboard warriors.

Was that your way of saying that I am not serious? Because I don’t own a book series?

In any capacity, I own the series. Good luck in your new hobby, and frame of life.

I've seen examples on unrestored jeeps with non stamped brackets. the bracket on my jeep also does not have any numbers stamped. in the end, does it really matter? I mean if your happy with the parts on your jeep who cares if it has some numbers on it or not. its your jeep.

It matters if you’re trying to restore your vehicles as accurately as possible. There is much debate on the 42 marked jerry can holders and whether or not they are WWII vintage or not. I think the consensus is that they are indeed WWII but the question remains if they were factory stalled or available through the supply chain during the war.

I think its fair to say both marked and unmarked are determined to be correct for WWII jeeps..

Buy slats or VEPs to get rid of the problem ;)
Probably the only problem you'll skip :D
