Hi guys
I found this nice GPW GAS gauge on eBay.
It's definitely not original, As I can see bent on the back of the bezel, and face has been swap from the MB slat face on the GPW gauge.

Re: GPW GAS gauge
Looks like the GAS was painted on as well as the other markings being painted over with a fine brush.

Re: GPW GAS gauge
Nice....but it is a SW, not an Autolite...
Here is an original Autolite "GAS" gauge:
The first thing you notice is the squared, long needle found on SW guages...
The second thing you are aware of is that SW FUEL gauges have two mounting posts on the rear and two wiring posts while the Autolite GAS and FUEL gauges use a two-post system to wire up and mount the gauge.
The third thing you notice is the silkscreening is not very precise.
The fourth thing you notice is that the bezel has been removed and replaced on this one.
Oh yeah, as far as I know, SW did not produce a gauge marked "GAS"...only those marked "FUEL".
Unless someone has documentation to the contrary...

Re: GPW GAS gauge
I second Chuck’s feelings.
So many things wrong with that gauge. It would need to be re-restored to make it correct.
