None of the WWII Pintles for the G-503 had the pin for the latch, nor did the Korean War era larger pintles used on M-38/M-38A1. Holland Hitch started supplying the pin with that particular pintle after the war.

It is made by Holland Hitch, same manufacture as during WWII, same generic features, but is later with later safety feature. It appears to have factory cotter pin hole and remainder of the chain. I installed the same later Holland Hitch Pintle on my MB for the first 25 years until I found a NOS original. It is actually safer because of the cotter pin. Not many will notice. The current Holland Pintle made to this spec uses a different manufacturing procedure and has a noticebly different look and finish. This is a better find than the current Holland pintle, and in nice shape.
It will look just fine except that it is newer.

Why is this not a WW2 pintle? Only because of the cotter pin hole?
I have an F marked pintle and it also has a hole drilled for a cotter pin. I am sure it was done after the war, but the hole doesn't make it a post war pintle (because of the F mark)

Sold new Holland Hitch Pintles, Tow Hooks and Lunettes for trucks and trailers for 50 years. I'll post a pic of a 1971 era pintle for you to compare. Need a couple days.
