Re: MB & GPW Parts
I'd like to find a wartime production MB block in the late 1942/early 1943 range, plus split framed driver and passenger seats, and a VR shell to put my later CJ VR inside.

Re: MB & GPW Parts
At some point, I think they dropped the skid plate off the oil pan. If they DIDN"T, then the only difference I'm aware of would be early/late drain plug.macaddict23 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 31, 2017 6:27 pmHow can you tell an MB oil pan from a postwar variety? I think I have a couple in my garage.1945Willys6202 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 31, 2017 3:50 pmI'm looking for a good, non leaking oil pan if you have one. Doesn't matter the year as long as it is WWII. Let me know if you have one!

AFAIK....all WWII jeeps have the oil pan "skid plate" attached to them....no skid plate is probably a civilian engine item.

Re: MB & GPW Parts
I had to research A999 availabilty worldwide (now I think it is the most scarse part of Willys, either NOS, used or repro). Ron wrote that he is out of the stock, as are some other reputable vendors. A999 is not listed on ebay as well (at lease I could not find it), QMT is selling Hotchkins shafts which have 1.1/4 bore (31mm) with customs made bearings to fit MB's 3/4 rod (19mm). I see that only Kaizer has 3/4 NOS shaft, but $350 seems to be out of the market range. Finally I found one vendor in Germany selling repro, made in EU for 60 EUR net. I have finger crossed that it will be of good quality.Leo H Jankowski wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2017 6:13 pmIRAKLI there are a number of these shafts currently for sale on EBAY or I'm sure a number of vendors including Ron Fitzpatrick can supply u with the shaft u r looking for. PS I have been Ron's customer for more then 8 years. I do cheer his business ethics and his attitute towards customers.

Re: MB & GPW Parts
According to Willys Master Parts manual TM 10-1186 and ORD 9-SNL-G503 dated Oct. 1949; A999 is the part number for intermediate gear while A998 is the part number for intermediate gear shaft as you requested in your previous post . Mullins Jeep Parts lists A998 shaft intermediate transfer for $12.00 plus shipping, he lists intermediate shaft gear A999 for $110.00 plus shipping. Hope this helps if you are looking for the shaft or the gear that rides on shaft. Best wishes; Leo

Re: MB & GPW Parts
I just typed in Shaft A998 Willys in ebay search bar and came up with a number of vendors. One sells the shaft with bearings and thrust bearings for about $65.00 US. This is not a bad price if you are looking for the shaft. Best wishes; Leo

Re: MB & GPW Parts
You are right. Early was a separate assembly riveted then soldered. The late ones are a stamped boss with a reinforcement inside. BLUF, the late ones look like a modern oil pan where the drain plug is1945Willys6202 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2017 7:45 amWell the early pans I know have that riveted plug section, but late war I'm not sure...
