Hi All,

Frank, I've just received one of the 303 jacks and handles. This is the 2 length folding type with clip (3 piece?).

With regard to lengths of handle, the straight section from the hinge to the end is 60 cm.

Do you know if the green paint on yours is original to the jack? Mine is covered in sticky black cosmoline like gunk, but does not appear to be painted anywhere.

Best Regards,

Adrian

POST WWII JACK ?

Post by Chip Palmer » Thu Mar 16, 2006 8:53 pm

Hi fellow G-men. I have a question concerning the square base ratcheting screw jack. Has it been determined that it is post war, and the rectangular WWII. I have both styles and am intersted to find out? Thank you for you help. Chip :?:

Stick to the rectangular based kind, and you will be safely on the correct side.

Guys,

I have a jack complete with 3 piece folding handle, similar to the 1/12 ton jack pictured 4th from the left in Frank`s photo at the beginning of this thread, Tony Sudds here in the UK has looked at it and said he thinks it is from a slat grill tool kit.
My question is, how much is it worth as I am thinking of selling it.

Thanks for any advice.

Mike

41-J-66 Jack

Post by Derek Eddlestone » Fri Mar 14, 2008 10:31 am

At least three people in the UK received their 41-J-66 Jack today. They were part of a tool collection that was sold from Austria by a G503 watcher. This one still has the factory paint and cosmoline on it.

Thankyou Wolfgang.

Here's the one I received today. This arrived with a coat of OD paint applied by army personnel? Paint is the post war dark shade OD, with the original factory black underneath- topped off with a layer of dusty cosmolene .

I think that might be the Jack, Double Screw, Hand. FSN 5120-708-3365, ORD Part No. 7083365 used on M38A1s and M151 series trucks.

I get myself screwed up on this thread so you need to read all five pages and I'm not too sure that will answer your question.
