Tire pump for GPW... again!
I know that tire pumps are a risky subject to discuss, but I really would like to hear some opinions on the best option for a GPW.
Here is what I remember from the many posts scattered around in this forum.
1) The Ford drawing had a QMC marking at first, and the pump itself in the drawing had the aspect of a Walker...
2) The pump on Fords always had an air nozzle, from the day it was introduced as standard supply.
3) The factory picture of a crated tool kit, posted somewhere in this forum, shows a pump that would appear as made by Walker, but it is not easy to tell if the base is a QMC or an ORD one which (as most know) is a tad longer.
4)The ORD pump on a GPW out of a crate at Rockhampton (Australia) has been tentatively identified as made by Dalton.
5) The pump associated with the famous Bizal kit, for what it is worth,is a "circled N" Noera...
If I forgot any other clue, please let me know.
The question is: what would you rate as best option for a GPW tire pump, and why?

Re: Tire pump for GPW... again!
I am not sure how applicable it is but the Ford Supplier list in the SNL G540 put the pumps supplied by Ford Motor Company of Canada but where did they get them ?

Hi Luca,
I don't have any opinion on your question. Just one small reminder... The tire pump in the Bizal kit was a circle-N, for sure, but nobody has definitively identified the logo as belonging to Noera, as far as I know, and there is evidence to suggest that it's actually a foundry mark for National Malleable foundry.

I agree, some including me call it a circle N noera even if it is not an evidence for the identification.Wingnutt wrote: ↑Tue Mar 13, 2018 7:52 amHi Luca,

I sure wish I could receive some answers: quite a few guys still need to purchase a pump for their GPW, and could find them useful.

Re: Tire pump for GPW... again!
On one thing there is no doubt left: the pumps for GPWs should any way be olive drab...

Luca....
I only have nine Rockhampton photos....is there a tenth one that shows a tire pump that i am missing or was it cropped out on the copies I do have? Can you describe which one the pump is shown in please?

I have forgot where I had seen the picture. All I remember is that the pump was tentatively identified as a Dalton.Chuck Lutz wrote: ↑Fri Mar 23, 2018 8:54 amLuca....

The purpose of my post was (and still is!) to help guys who need a pump for their GPW.
The question is: what would you rate as best option for a GPW tire pump, and why?
Most likely the picture you also had seen was enough for you to post this,in 2012:

By the time of WWII, it would have been owned by Midland-Ross

Is this the Rockhampton photo you are referring to. I've added the Camp Carson detail as well:

Luca,
Not to side track your post but is the base on the jack in the Camp Carson square rather than rectangular?

Re: Tire pump for GPW... again!
Looks rectangular to me. I think the angle of the picture makes it look more square than it is.
