Hi all
I have been on here a while reading all about the GMTK, I am in the process of building a 44 kit up.
I have been offered a Barcalo 1x15/16 spanner for a good price, but not sure its correct for the kit
Any advice would be great

Baxter,
The general consensus is that the raised panel Barcalos are the correct ones for the WWII GMTK. I don't have a handy photo right now but I think there is a set shown on JeepDraw.com under the GMTK link.

Baxter,
Those so-called roofline style are not correct. They are still shown in the very early (January) 1941 Price List we have access to, link here, but they are clearly leftovers, being overtaken by the raised panel style, which is shown for both DOE and DBE wrenches, and which we see in period documents and surplus repacks.
Are you using the first stickie? It has all kinds of links.
By the way, welcome to the G and good luck. The kits are a lot of fun to collect, you'll get all kinds of help and advice here, and we in turn will get your fresh energy and perspective.

Baxter,
I completely agree with Bill and Greg. Not only are they prewar this style Barcalo was not made in all the sizes necessary to put together a complete set for the jeep or the GMTK. However, this style Barcalo did find its way into the repacks. So if you are looking for a conversation piece for a motor pool jeep set or GMTK this would be a good one and you could come up with a great story of how it ended up there. If you are looking for the most correct or accurate wrench set this one wouldn't be a good choice.

Re: Barcalo 1 x 15/16 Spanner
They are nice, attractive and well made wrenches that were still shown as available in the 1943 catalog. Here are some from my Barcalo collection. However, the ones you are looking for to include in your set are the raised panel wrench style shown at the bottom of the catalog image. The wrenches in top image are the correct raised panel wrenches from my MVMTS. They are not that uncommon in the U.K.
