Westinghouse t-1 Part Question
I recently acquired a t-1 I am going to mount on my Jeep. It is missing a few parts though. I am wondering about the 'cap' that fits on the discharge tube that covers the tube when not in use. Is it made of metal or is it like a rubber plug?
Thanks,
Bill

Thanks Warren, that is very interesting.
I also forgot to ask, mine is missing the 'strainer.' Would anyone have a detailed picture of one with measurements?
Thanks,
Bill

Re: Westinghouse t-1 Part Question
Warren,
I'd be interested if you would be willing to sell it.
THanks,
Bill

Re: Westinghouse t-1 Part Question
T-1 WABCO Compressor, I had the opportunity to work for Westinghouse Air Brake and located in the drawing vault some original test specs. and drawings for the T-1. The tip that seals the compressor where the hose hooks up was made of Rubber with a small screw eye type end so you could attach a safety chain. I hope to someday write an article on the T-1. I have mine mounted on my MB along with a Capstan Winch, a little machining but all works. Last year I had to use the T-1 to pump up a horse trailer while in a parade. The T-1 worked well but gets pretty hot. The manual says it will pump up to 70 PSI. Good Luck

Re: Westinghouse t-1 Part Question
Thanks for responding.
Is there any chance you have a drawing of the mounting bracket to attach it to a pulley drive on a CJ2A? That is my ultimate goal. I have yet to find an original to copy. Like the picture on the left below.
Thanks,
Bill

Re: Westinghouse t-1 Part Question
CJ 2 rear power take off mounting bracket for the T-1, sorry the WABCO files only address WWII trucks, one of the drawing shows a mounting bracket for a Studebaker 6X. The MB / GPW had a 2 piece mounting bracket. After the WWII WABCO sold the T-1 mounted on a 2X6 with an electric motor. While digging through the drawers I found an original brass wing nut and one rubber seal cap for the hose connection. I hope to write an article sometime and share more of the test information.

An ad in this 1951 Popular Mechanic's Magazine says 25' hose.
