Re: My GMTK'S Still Building
Hi All,
Here are some more pics. Still working on chisels, punches and a few other tools. I have chisels and punches but they are post war so I won't show those. I will post the pics of the dark GMTK first. And the light box to follow.
Thanks.
Dave

Re: My GMTK'S Still Building
Looks like better than a good start!
How bout some pics of that fantastic looking Duro ignition set. And maybe a good shot of the screwdriver! That roll looks to be in better shape than the one I have! Nice!
And not one, but two FSN marked Walden boxes.
Is that a trio of short offset Barcalo DBEs in the second kit.... You've been doing some homework. Looking Great!

Re: My GMTK'S Still Building
Dave,
Those are great looking sets. Needless to say, I am very impressed with your extensive Barcalo wrench collection! As Jason noted, the Duro ignition wrenches are some of the nicest I've seen. The only items that I might question are the Starrett feeler gauges that may be postwar. I thought that I could make out a copyright mark on the box in the first set. All in all, though, those are wonderful sets that you should be very proud of. Did you have to pick up many of the items from internet sources? They just look too nice to all be flea market finds!

Hi Jason
Once I saw your ignition set you posted which is very nice That is what inspired me to find a set, I thought I would never find one just as nice what are the odd's right? By the grace of God I did! I did not get it at such a nice price as you got your set.It was a bit pricey but better than wishing and hoping very thankful to have it. I will get some close up pic's of the set's a little later today.Thank's for the kind word's on my set's!
Thanks Again
Dave

Hi Don
It has taken me a few years to get the point of where I am at with my set's.I have bought some of my tool's from here on the G and some from the internet sources also the swap meet here in vegas real slim picking for war time tools in all the years since I started on my kits I have never seen a Walden FSN marked box nor an ignition set with a pouch.I just recently discovered while going through my stash of tools to get my kit's together that I have three set's of Barcalo Buffalo short dbe wrenches .I remember a post where you said that you knew about a few set's world wide that you were aware of I was really shocked to find out about the set's I have been fortunate to have I will post them later later today.Thank's for the kind word's on my set's,But the truth be said that with out this great group of Guy's & Gals sharing the knowledge I would not be anywhere close to where I am at with these kit's today.
Thank's Again

Re: My GMTK'S Still Building
Dave,
Sorry I'm late to the party! Those are two fantastic sets!! And as another Barcalo fan I am VERY envious of all the Barcalo pieces. Three short BB DBE sets.....are you kidding me??!!!
If there is anything I can do to help fill in any gaps let me know. Congrats on some great sets. Clearly your hard work and studies of the gee post have paid off.
By the way, what brand are the hack saw blades? STAR?

Re: My GMTK'S Still Building
Dave,
Those are all great looking pieces. I especially like the ORD padlock. That's the only one I've ever seen.
Below are the Starrett 172A feeler gauge style that I prefer. I don't think the copyright mark after the Starrett name came into use until the 50s.

Re: My GMTK'S Still Building
Hi All,
Here is some more pics. I finally found my box that contains my dark pouch ignition sets.
Don,
Thanks for pointing out the trademark on the feeler gauges. Good eye, you just made me realize just how bad my vision is.
Phil,
Here is the pic of the blades. We will contact you soon on the files, punches and chisels.
Thanks.
