Re: What's in Your MVMTS/GMTK? Extra Items
Luke,
Its always a little harder than you would think but my simplified approach is to go through ww2 era magazines such as LIFE and Leathernecks among others and look at vintage ads to get an idea of popular brands and styles and how they were marked. Leathernecks had soldiers/Marines as an audience so it seems reasonable that they had access to the items in the ads. At least its a place to start.

Cool. I picked up a late-war Collier's. Maybe I'll flip through it. I've never seen a Leathernecks.

Re: What's in Your MVMTS/GMTK? Extra Items
I thought of a few other things that may have found their way into the GMTK. A book of matches from the premier ww2 tool maker, valve cores and a tool any savvy ww2 mechanic would have brought from home!

Here is the latest extra I've added to my GMTK. Hey, a guy has to have something to do! The tin is very cool and I love the "When a feller needs a friend". The pipe is a Medico pipe.

Luke,
Sounds like you want to join the 7 in 1 tool fraternity. It's a pretty select group. We even have a secret handshake!
Phil,
I've heard that tobacco is bad for you.

Ha! You are absolutely correct Don though last I heard an empty tin was ok!
I hear the 7 in 1 club is a pretty elite group.

Here's the ad that was the inspiration for the tobacco tin from LIFE magazine '42.
