GMTK Contest

Post by Wingnutt » Fri Feb 20, 2015 10:54 am

Here's a little eye candy contest as a break from Silly MB's math test... :)

Can you identify the date of the GMTK illustrated on this pamphlet figure?

Image

The tools are actual size. The fold-up is 44” x 44”. The material is waterproofed, like vinylized paper. The blackened out areas on the upper right corner are not original to the figure, I photoshopped it to prevent you clever guys from blowing it up and cheating.

The participant who comes closest to the correct year, without going over, will be the winner!

The winner gets to pick one of the GMTK tools below – unbranded “U.S.A.” close-quarter screwdriver, “TRIMO” 6-inch pipe wrench, and “MIDWEST STANDARD” tinners’ shears – and I will ship it for the cost of shipping only.

Sounds so official. I bet you've seen the image before, Phil!
So, since I can't guess '55, I'll guess '56!
Nice padlock. Anyone else think that's an S-K ratchet... :?:

I wondered if the flashlight design gives a clue ... but I could not find a conclusive answer.

Are you going to guess a year, Cliff?! There's no entry fee! (And no extra points for giving anyone else clues!)

Based on the introduction date of 1963, for a similar military flashlight, I'm going for 1964.
