Hotchkiss Frame?

Post by Benleroy » Mon Nov 19, 2007 1:11 pm

Hi all!

I'm a 24yo boy from Liege (Belgium, near Bastogne).
I'll try to speak english but it's not my motherlanguage ;)

I need some help to identify the chassis of my Jeep

My grandfather bought this jeep in 1980 and i try to restore it. This jeep went through the french army.

Thanks a lot!

Here some pics ;).

(I've a website with pics sort by type: http://perso.latribu.com/Benleroy/)
And this is the original post: http://www.g503.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=106865

About the chassis

Some users in MB sections sayed that's a original WW2 frame but... I didnt have willys plate or holes...

It's maybe a Hotchkiss frame. I've the Army chassis number stamped onto the top surface of the right chassis leg (Number 3169). But no Hotchkiss number stamped on the top of the left chassis rail...

CH = Chassis Hotchkiss? Why not...

But there's no renforcement on the chassis leg like the hotchkiss. I've try "the touch job" and it's Y, like willys...

So, what do you think?

Willys? Hotchkiss?

This is a late Hotchkiss. The weld is a clean MIG type weld. The WW2 welds are a much rougher splattery arc weld .
Just found this on Williams site

Hope you dont mind William ...the picture is a perfect example /comparison against a Hotchkiss chassis.

Hi "G".

I've lot of work since i'vd post, sorry.

I've ask some questions to JLM and Rovai Rene. They think that i've a Hotchkiss 6V Frame of 1957.

The mark "CH" is maybefor "chassis Hotchkiss", possibly to make difference between rebuild or reconditionated frame.

Thx for your help

quest associated

wow goldHowever, one important type of stat that won’t be retroactively tracked is which bosses players have killed. “There’s a quest associated with killing Onyxia, like the turn-in-her-head quest,” Kaplan said, citing an example.
