Hardware details need

Post by Thunderbird712 » Thu Mar 22, 2018 9:36 am

To help with my 45 MB restoration I am trying to determine the finishes (Cad plated, plain, parkerized, black enemal) of several bolts, nuts, and washers. I have used factory pictures, the various SNLs, compared part #s, and read old threads to determine finishes of alot of hardware. Here are the following items I need help with or confirmation of what I think:

Are all the body bolts and nuts, fender to cowl bolts, fender to frame bolts, fender to grill bolts, and grill to frame bolts Parkerized?

Toe Board Gusset to Frame 3/8-24 3/4” WO-50163: Ford part # lists it as Cad plated but the WO number does not match the radio junction box ground cable of the same size. Parkerized like all the other body bolts?

Tool compartment lid, glove box door hinge, glove box door striker #10-24 3/8" WO-5182

Tool Compartment locks #10-24 3/8" WO-52236

Harness clips to body, junction blocks to dash and fender #10-24 5/8" WO-5064

Fire Extinguisher mounting brackets to body #12-24 5/8” WO-53267
Fire Extinguisher mounting brackets to body nut #12-24 WO-6214

Rear mirror bracket to body #12-24 5/8" WO-6988: Same size screw as FE but differnet part# which means differnet finish
Rear mirror bracket to body #12-24 nut WO-6989

Shovel Bracket to side panel flat washer: What is its outside diameter and finish?

Glove box door striker #10 flat washer WO-52220: What is its outside diameter?

Dash pad to firewall screws (cant find part #): They are a shiny finish from factory pictures but is it a plain finish or Cad plating? I lean toward plain finish but can someone confirm.

All of these items are in areas that may or may not have been hit during the final assembly overspray. Some of the items had one side oversprayed (confirmed by factory pictures) but the other side would have been hidden and stayed its finish. Thats why I ask. Any help such as factory pictures showing these areas or anything would be appreciated. Thank you.

Have a look at Claude Pons' MB & GPW Bolts, Nuts & Washers List on http://jeepdraw.com/, it may help.

Also see http://jeepdraw.com/PART_COLOURS.htm

Claude Pons' bolt list is a good source for information but it is no differnet then reading through the SNL. The Willys part numbers dont point out the finish as the Ford part numbers do. Jeepdraw is also an excellent source and has helped me with some of the hardware. The questions I listed are not found in either of them. I forgot to add that to my list of places I looked.
