Hello
With the original spark plugs now impossible to find, what spark plugs would you use in a rebuilt GPW engine that are available today.?

Once you get over not being able to buy original QM-2s at NAPA auto parts for two bucks, a very reliable modern sub is the Autolite 295 found quite easily in US auto parts stores.

If one studies enough 1940's-60's AC, Champion Firestone , AutoLite Sparkplug books, including the Sparkplug TM's and their interchanges, it will be discovered that the current AC equivalent is the AC 45.
I have used AC 45's in L-Head Jeeps since the 60's. Dennis Spence has an excellent book for MV users, "Army Vehicle Parts Guide" now sold by Portrayal Press, it lists the current brand part numbers. AC-45 is what is listed for MB/GPW in the spark plug interchange that Dennis researched.
Firestone F-40's will be installed next in my MB when the time comes. Firestone F-40 was stocked by the Army during WWII as a replacement.
