They were sometimes attached by Organizational Maintenance. Not original, but guys still do it. Make sure it does not hit your windshield wiper arm, if you have the one piece one.

Yes, I know; when you mount the CCKW mirror bracket to your MB frame, as guys have done in the past, make sure it does not interfere with your wiper cross arm, if you have a one piece arm. Of course if you have the two individual hand wipers with no connecting arm, then, no issues.

You may be able to find an old rear view mirror in a junkyard that has a threaded hole on the back and a flat mount. If you do...it can be attached to the junction of the inner windshield upper and center post.

My GPW has one and even with the canvas cover on the windshield it stays in focus when the canvas comes off and windshield is raised into position. I do have individual wipers with no crossbar as a 4/24/42 GPW should have.

Nope....no such bracket on this one. It is attached using the same size/pitch as the screw that holds the middle divider on the inner to the top of the windshield inner...not attached to the outer frame at all. I think the one you pictured is for an M38A1 perhaps?

Perhaps a repro CJ-2A Inside Rear View Mirror Bracket will do the job. Sean offered them at one time.

Looks like it, the open cab was prior to late 2007. That is my M-756A2 in the background.
