I disagree! The more discussion the better. Sticky is appropriate but discussion on the drawings helps us understand them better.

A nice set of drawings. However, the very low resolution makes a lot of them -at least partially- impossible to read, which makes the real value very limited. Hopefully it will be possible to get higher resolution (readable) images in the future.

@Henk
You can view the images at full resolution on line, which is quite high !
For example : drawing THF403905/GPW-10850 "Ammeter - Ass'y," has a resolution of 2625X3500 pixels.
This is a very good resolution!
But you can only view the drawing at that resolution and not download the file.
This is to avoid a server overload.
The high resolution images on the Ford server are in Deep Zoom Image format (dzi), which means that they are sliced in multiple tiles for the online viewer.
Guess what?
There is a Linux utility to recompose the full image from the tiles !
There is also an online tool that does the job without having to install anything.
Once the full size image is displayed, you can download it by right clicking on the image and save image.

Amazing Yves! What is this online tool you mentioned? And could you explain those "few picture corrections and enhancements"?
I am sure others would be interested too. Maybe even the whole set of drawings could be treated that way to make them more valuable.

Tom is right... I have spent over $20k getting the drawings scanned at the Henry Ford. Also spent nearly half that much acquiring the licensing rights so now we are the only company that is legally allowed to make the parts. The drawings are incredibly helpful for getting the parts correct. Lots of new things coming from us in the next year.

First the Dezoomify tool: This tool will recompose the full resolution image from the multiple image tiles.
There is a utility running under Linux to do that job, but for 100+ images you could use the online tool that can be found here:
https://ophir.alwaysdata.net/dezoomify
You just have to paste the URL of the dzi image xml file into the box named "URL of the web page containing your image".
It's just a bit more complex to find the URL from the web pages sources, but here as simple way to fetch the images:
The basic URL is this one for an image:
https://www.thehenryford.org/collection ... 402909.dzi
(Copy/paste the URL in your favorite text editor to read it in extenso.)
Paste this URL in the Dezoomify tool box and a few seconds after you will get the full resolution image.
Each image on the Ford website is named THxxxxxx. (written below each drawing with the description)
Just replace that TH number in the above mentioned URL and you will get all images, one by one, in full resolution.
For example for the THF403848 Stud drawing the URL would be this one :
https://www.thehenryford.org/collection ... 403848.dzi
And so on for each image of the set.
I would advise not to do that manipulation all together at the same time in order not to overload the server with the full size images download.
Otherwise the webmaster could easily disable the online dzi engine.
Next time, I will shortly explain how to enhance the images.
It's not a 100% successful job, because a few images are scanned from old faded blue prints.

That's great Yves. I hope to try this out shortly. How to do the enhancements would be nice to know too.
Thanks very much Yves.

@Henk,
To enhance the drawings you should always work on .png images.
If you work on jpg, you will increase the compression artifacts each time you save the image.
Fortunately the online tool mentioned above delivers the drawing in png format.
As for the imaging software, I use Corel Paintshop Pro, but you could use GIMP (excellent freeware) or the best, Photoshop.
There are also freeware tools to just replace the colors in the images.
The trick to enhance the drawing is to increase the contrast between the foreground (writings, drawings) and the background.
Sometimes it's as easy as removing the gray background color only.(change the background gray to white.)
Many imaging software are able to do it automatically using a function usually named Quick Photo Enhancement .
But this does not work very well with faded drawings.
You need to use the image software tool named Color Picker. This tool can pick two colors that will allow to use another tool, the Color Replace tool.
You pick the color of the faded text, usually light or very light gray, as the first color and you pick the black color as the second color.
The you select the Color Replace tool
Using the left or right mouse button you can select the color that will replace the original colors hovered by the cursor.
This is with Paintshop but it's likely different with GIMP. There are several tutorials available on the net..
To correctly enhance the drawing you would need to play with the Color Replacer parameters, like the tolerance between the color to be changed and the background color.
If you increase to much the tolerance, you will see the background color changing as well. Undo.
It's easy: you start with a narrow tolerance and you increase the tolerance up to when the background color starts to change.
Here you can find more information on restoring old blueprints with GIMp: https://www.secretprojects.co.uk/forum/ ... 083.0.html
You would also use the image free rotation to slightly rotate drawing scanned not square.
There is also a de-speckle tool that allows you to automatically remove black spots from the drawings.
It's a work of Benedictine but you don't get grease on your hands while doing that !
There are a few drawings in the GPW set that are really not recoverable.

Yves, thank you very much for explaining how to enhance the drawings.
It requires (a lot of) experimenting, but I expected that and I will start shortly.
Regards, Henk.

Re: GPW drawings from the henryford.org Edited with listing
I've downloaded all available drawings in full resolution from thehenryford.org website.
I've already enhanced and corrected a few of them.
I cannot upload the enhanced drawings here in the forum, so yo could download them in pdf via that URL to my own web server.

From time to time, I will upload other pdf enhanced drawings.
Jeepdraw owner, as suggested in this forum, feel free to host these files if interested...

@Bill and "Can Make"
Today, I've published 8 other enhanced drawings in pdf.
http://www.avi-plus.com/repair-tips-for ... .html#2632
Among them is the requested frame assy.
Unfortunately that drawing scan is very poor and blurry, and it's almost impossible to read the key dimensions, even on the THF website.
I've tested several different filters to improve the readability to no avail.
There are a few other drawings in the same poor shape, like the dashboard.
