Thought I'd share these pics of the Firewall Pad. I just bought a new replacement from RFJP and there appears to be a difference.

Yes there is a difference in originals and new ones. No one makes corrugated card board that thin and cheap any more. So they use the modern stuff.

I thought of that, but even those have different layers to them than original firewall pads. The actual chinese cardboard is made from recycled stuff we sent back to them that they sent to us in the first place. That was made from US wood. That's the only thing we make any more.

That original set looks pretty good,all things considered,especially all of the corrugated stuff being there.You could spray the cover with black enamel to stiffen it... then flat black...a little repair on the corner...be cool to have it original that way.Or maybe another G member could use it.Or... I could mind my own beeswax
