I read somewhere that in 1942 some of the Ford plants used different data plates on the glove box. Some had three brass plates and others used two brass plates and the DoD plate was zink. Can someone confirm this, and if so is there a list of which plants used what type of metal for the SN/DoD plate?
THanks

Re: Data Plate Data
Roger,
That's where I saw that. Thanks for finding it for me.
Now the question is: has anyone researched which plants used which combination of BRASS-STEEL-BRASS or BRASS-STEEL-STEEL instead of BRASS-BRASS-BRASS during 1942?
Its a very minor point, but just another piece to the overall puzzle.

Re: Data Plate Data
This probably doesn't help much but I know of a March 1944 GPW from the Lincoln Assembly Plant which has a steel nomenclature plate but has a brass "Caution" and a brass "shifting" plate. I always thought it interesting that they were still using up brass plates so late in the war. My Feb '42 GPW (Dearborn) has three brass plates and my Mar '43 GPW (Louisville) had three steel plates.

That is interesting. Thanks for adding those details. Those data points for the three plants are great to see.
