Gearbox oil leak

Hi all, I have rebuilt my gpw gearbox but have a bad leak of gear oil from the bell housing. At first it didn't leak but then it started leaking after every journey, long or short.
What would be the cause of this and how would one rectify this? One assumes the gearbox will have to come out, are they easy to remove from beneath the jeep? I fitted it from the top originally when the body was off.

I don't use cork no matter how many years they were used. I have used that new felt type seal and it has been leak free.

Thanks Bantumj and Dino,
Definately the second options as the cap is in place. Where would you get the felt or neoprene seals as I have only ever seen the cork ones. If I were to use a cork one again is there anything I can do to make sure it doesn't leak again?

Replacing the front bearing with a fully sealed one will work wonders & no more leaks, if fitted properly.
The drain hole under the bearing retainer needs to be plugged & I always refit a new cork or felt seal, but it wouldn't matter if it was left out.

The felt front seals made for the T-90 can be an issue as they are too thick. The original cork will work just fine if the pilot bushing is in spec and if the M.D. Bearing is not worn. They may feel fine when rotated, but the inner races do wear and allow the M.D.shaft to whip.
