Herb,
The FM-85 does look good.
Derek,
I'm posting this (once) rather than doing a PM as I thought others on your side of the pond might be interested.
I can (and will) procur threaded fasteners in small quantities and ship them wherever anyone wants them shipped. However, I have an alternate suggestion you might want to check out first. Especially as you have a US drop ship address to have the stuff sent to. These days I buy most of my threaded fasteners, small quantities of raw materials like phenolic, etc, and several other classes of materials from McMaster.com. I don't know whether they will ship to Europe or not but they certainly will to Newark. Setting up an account is as best I recall pretty simple. They accept most credit cards. And they do not seem to have an explicit minimum dollar order. Although ordering several things one at a time will get you hit with several shipping charges. And small items like machine screws, hex head cap screws, nuts and washers are only sold in fixed quantities, usually between 100 and 10, depending upon size (you can't buy just three #8-32 x 3/4 Round Head Machine Screws, for example).
Anyway, spend a few minutes looking over their site. If it doesn't look like a viable solution, let me know and we'll go from there. I will add that although they have most any head style, thread pitch and length of threaded fastener ever made in the US, and in steel, stainless steel, high strength alloy steel, inconel, brass and aluminum, finishes are going to be limited to bright and zinc plated. No cadmium anymore, no black oxide and no green or black painted heads. I don't think anyone in the US does cad. Black oxide has gotten very difficult to get done. And painting is DIY.

Re: FM-85 measurements needed
Background on the thread at the link posted below is that about a decade ago, Tom Campbell was reproducing some FM-85 Frames which are part of the vehicle mount used with the BC-1306 and RT-77/GRC-9.
The MT-350/GRC-9 (not FT-350 as written) is a shallow "bread pan" with short canvas straps both sides that attach the RT-77. It attaches to the FM-85 and the RT-77 is strapped to it. None of which has anything directly to do with BC-1000 or more correctly AN/VRC-3.
Tom, either on his own hook or due to a request or two, made some modified FM-85's that would hold either the PP-114 or the standard battery case.
I no longer have an FM-85 to measure. And I never got involved directly with the BC-1000 modification. If Tom is not going to make any more of either the standard one or better in this case the modified one, he may be willing to give you the necessary dimensions.
