Burndy connector or complete power cable for U-383/VR

Post by wa1tej » Thu Jun 29, 2006 9:02 am

Have Adapter, Power Supply U-383/VR. Understand this allows PRC-77 to operate in a vehicle with 12-24 V. Looking for Burndy female 5-pin connector or complete power cable for this unit. Male chassis connector says 'BURNDY 14-5' & 'BURNDY 753114P 14-5P'.

Thanks!

A member kindly checked his surplus gear collection & came up with what appearsd to be the proper connector on the end of the proper cable. This is a Burndy type 851 connector.

I have a number of PRC-77s in my collection. With the coming sunspot max I plan to use one with the U-383/VR & an external power supply as a standoff receiver for listening to one of my favorites, Ft Hood Range Control on 30.45 MHz.

This group is a great resource!

Does anyone know if the U-383/VR were used in Vietnam or are they a post vietnam development ?
I don't want to put one in my 66 M151A1 if they were not used in the 60s,

Cheers

Pete

Hello Willy

By chance do you have any more power cables for the U-383-VR.
If not do you have a source or know their CX number?

Thanks
Eric
Looking for Canadian WW2 Jeep and Trailer Serial Numbers as well as other data.
Thanks
