Re: FS 528 radios
The SCR528 is a 508 with only 1 receiver and spare parts chest in the place of the 2nd receiver. There was also a SCR538 which was a single receiver along with a BC-605 interphone amplifier for vehicles which only required a receiver.

Re: FS 528 radios
A little more to add to Dallas's post - The early SCR-528 was BC-604 transmitter, one BC-604 receiver and one BC-605 Interphone Amp. But most earlier production BC-604's and all later production had an MWO that rewired the BC-604 to double as the interphone amp. MWO 11-600-4 (date unknown but probably Summer or Fall of 1944) or MWO 11-600-9 dated 01 APR 1945. In the end, almost all BC-604's were modified if not already built that way. So finding one without the modification is unusual.
On the other hand, there is no evidence that the BC-684-A was ever modified. But all BC-684-B's came from the factory with the mod.
