need a BC-611 inverter

Post by jklier » Sat Sep 23, 2017 11:43 am

Anyone know if the guy over in Italy still makes the power inverters for the BC-611's? I bought 4 of them 15+ yeas ago and one of them finally went out. Hoping they're still out there.

If he's still making them some contact information would be appreciated.

Thanks fellas.

Yes they are well made, even the ones I bought 15 years ago. Looking at his photos on ebay he's made some improvements to them that address some minor flaws I had to deal with on the older design.

When I was looking around online I ran across a youtube video of someone firing up a NOS French made BC-611 for the first time. He had sourced a custom rechargeable NiMH battery for the high side pack. In the comments he mentioned that he had it custom made and the company was considering manufacturing more of them. He never said the name of the company and I have not had a reply from the video owner when I messaged him and ask for the name. He claims the inverter makes a bit of interference that is not present when using this pack.

I'd love to be able to track down who made his pack to see if they'd make more.

Well, I finally found 2 NOS BA38 batteries for display. One is dead, the other one puts out about 50 volts. Both are still in sealed bags. Now I need a BA37 for display.

I have not found anyone who will make them.

Here's something else I found.

Unfortunately they aren't rechargeable.

The last US contractor was Brentronics. AFAIK, the last ones that they made were 100 for me, in 1993. They cost me $29 each, plus shipping. 100 quid each is a bit steep. For that price, the least that they could do is make them green.

I agree, that's very expensive for a disposable battery.

If anyone is interested here's the video I referred to that shows a rechargeable NiMH battery. In the comments he said he paid $149 for it including the charger.
