It's an MT-299 for the AN/VRC 8, 9, & 10 Radios.

It's an MT, not an FT.

the question is- was the FT-512 also used on the MT-297 ? kinda looks like it. just doubled up

I would go further and say it consists of both rubbers and the connecting flat bar foot. but it might be just the rubber part.

FT-512 consists only of the hollow square block with holes drilled through and tapped #10-32 top and bottom of each corner. The four flat head and four hex head slotted screws were packaged with it.

The FT-512 was attached to the mount base with flat head screws. The shock mounts attach with slotted hex head screws to the top of each block and are

M-447 3-7#
M-448 8-16#
M-449 17-30#

The steel center post of each shock is tapped through 1/4"-28 UNF for attaching the movable part of the mount.

I don't have it recorded which rating shock mount was used on which mount.
