Well, I wish you luck !!!
Just abit of a run down:
Power output:
Transmitter................0.3 watts (rf)
Receiver....................2 milliwatts (af)
Power Input:
Transmitter:
Filaments.................4.5 volts (normal), 3.6 volts (min), 0.5 amps (max)
Plate........................90 volts (normal) , 66 volts (min) , 25 ma (max) 150 volts (normal), 110 volts volts (min), 50 ma (max)
Receiver:
Filaments................4.5 volts (normal), 3.6 volts (min), 0.3 amps (max)
Plate......................90 volts (normal), 66 volts (min) , 25 ma (max)
Other info:
The BC-1000 has the samr frequency coverage of 40 to 48 megacycles (me) which is exactly the same as the Radio set AN/VRC-3.....Therefor these two sets can be used for intercommunication.
Compared to the battery pack (BA-70 OR BA-80) THAT THEY USED THEN.........it's a heck of a job to hook one up now $$$$$$$........
Not sure about where you live but here in Sonoma County - if I got mine working - I'd be sharing the same frequency as the CHP Radio's
Good luck w/ you adventure!!!!

You can make a battery pack for this item from the following.
1 and 1/2 6 Volt lantern batterys as well as 17-9 Volt batterys. I made a setup for one of the Barrow Bros before TP. There is a Gent in Italy (Europa) that makes a complete inverter running off a six volt Gell-cell. Maybe Dallas or Willy can help here as to his E-mail.
Anyway some other parts can be purchased from Radio Shack to make the "sockets".
Cheers

Re: bc-1000 radio set up help needed
I've been checking into this myself.
I exchanged a few emails with Dallas a while back concerning my unit. First of all he informed me that wartime units are difficult to get functioning due to the age of the capicitors. You would have better luck with a unit that had been rebuilt or that was produced later on.
The contact email I have for a batter adapter produced in Italy is pietronoto@tiscali.it . He responded back to me but I don't remember what the cost was. I opted not to purchase one since i did not know if my wartime unit was functional.
There was also a vehicle power supply unit called a PP114. This would allow operating off of the vehicle power. From what I gathered this was a post war addition. One of these recently sold on ebay.
Here's a link that another list member sent me. This could possible work for a power supply but would need to be adapted to run of of your vehicle power.

I hope some of this helps. If you get yours going please let me know how you did it.

BC-1000 Battery
Hi,
I have one of the invertors from Italy, Takes a 12 battery & it works just fine, they are well made.
I got mine when he was selling them on eBay for $75.00, more than likely gone up in price now.
Regards

Hello,
I have a vintage BA 70. I 've emptied it and put in the italian power supply.
It works great and looks vintage.

Hello again,
Here is the BC 1000 AC adaptator made in 1952 for the french signal corps.
It's perfect for checking a BC 1000 without batteries BA70 or BA 80.
It works with 100 to 240 V and has a fuse protection. So I can warm up my old tubes from time to time and check the vintage capacitors still in place in this BC 1000 A dated 1943 in pristine condition.

I use wood sheets used in aero-modelism for recovering the internal sides of the medal battery case. They were tared and not in good condition with rust and stains.
They are now clean and it is possible to glue anything you want on the wood surfaces.
