Re: WTB WW2 US Officers Mess Kit Box
Does anyone know if there is a record of what exactly the contents of one of these boxes should be? I just purchased one that has "Texas Trunks" stamped on it.
I would like to verify I have everything that is supposed to be in it or acquire what is missing.

Getting everything "matching" is a challenge with these (been there)... I'd go with an enamelware set (100% WW2) which is best bought as complete as possible from the start. Salt/pepper shakers and military can opener are challenging too. This is the mess equipment equivalent of building a GMTK...

Hello, What does the correct Military can opener look like? I have a kit just missing the can opener. Thanks

It's the old school, all metal one depicted in the SNL photo above. The ones I've seen had a "US" stamped in the handle. Otherwise identical to civilian. I think ECKO may have made them, certainly others too.
