Post by Blue_Devil » Sun Jan 17, 2016 2:04 pm

Hey guys I'm looking for a set of ww2 hbt coveralls in a size 54 or 56 chest. I have a set for trade in a size 52. Or I can pay cash. I'm looking for something either new or well loved with oil and grease stains and wear. I will entertain all offers. Please send a pm of you have anything. Thanks!

Can't help you, as I'm certain I've never seen an original that big for any price. If you found one, you'd have to pay a fortune for the thing.
I strongly suggest you go repro on this as it's the only option you'll likely ever find: http://www.atthefrontshop.com/product_p/usuchb.htm or http://www.wwiiimpressions.com/newusarm ... tsuit.html or http://www.ebay.com/dsc/United-States/1 ... +coveralls

Lee,

I have a set of original WW2 HBT Coveralls, but like you say, it is better to retire them and use repos.

My question is, the price at WW2 Impressions is 100 bucks more than the ones at, At The Front. Is the quality that much better?

Thanks

Does nobody have a opinion as to which is better, and is it 2 times better?

The HBTs at WW2 Impressions is 200 bucks and the ones at, At The Front is 100 bucks.

Which would you buy, and why?

I know it is usually you get what you pay for, but not always.

Thanks

WWII Impressions quality is top of the line. For customer service reasons, I will never purchase from ATF again, ever.

I have both, from ATF and WWII, as well as some other imports. I can tell you both are fine, so given the price difference, I'd go cheaper. There were two different styles though, so your choice on the early vs. late may decide where you buy from. I've never had a problem with ATF customer service.

Thanks guys for your help, and feedback.

Right now, one person like one, and the other one likes the other. Does someone else want to be a tie breaker? ...... :D

I've bought from both. No doubt the more expensive WWII Impressions are generally a better product, but you are paying for that and usually it is because it is not available elsewhere. Don't know if you are getting twice the quality however. I really don't have a preference.

If you are going to use it as it was designed, I'd go for ATF, so you won't cry over the oil and tears quite so much. If you are going to use it for photos and such; WWII Impressions.

Then again, there is What Price Glory...

I'll use them as intended, which is why I want to quit using my real ones.

I'm too old to run around with the gear on, so I use my Dodge WC63 and 57mm M1 Anti tank gun during reenactments, displays, and the ever popular giving rides.

So the coveralls are to do what they were designed for.
