Name that Pedestal?

Post by Rustman » Mon Jan 08, 2018 9:33 am

Recently bought an M151A1 and I know this doesn't belong in the passengers crotch. I can't imagine an emergency stop without a seatbelt on...

So what is it? I don't know anything about weapons mounts. I think 123400 is in the casting. I'll have to check next week when I get the MUTT out of the trailer.

Thanks

It's a Hmmwv weapons tray riser welded to a pipe.

Howdy,
It’s possible that the pintle adapter is welded-on to a cut down travel lock for the recoilless rifle barrel, if your M151 was originally a M151A1C.

I agree with Cranetac.
HMMWV riser welded to pipe.
That's a home brew mount.

Thanks Cranetac, and Urban Camo for the second. That certainly seems it. M15150 I took a look at some photos and it would appear that mine is not an M151A1C travel lock column. That column looks to be larger in diameter, mounted closer to vehicle center and braced to the dash panel. But thanks for the heads up. Certainly don't want to lose something valuable in the process of removing hackery from the vehicle.

So.. It's for sale!! Probably a bit heavy to ship. But I could bring it to Aberdeen. For sale ad in the HMMWV section.
