Charles Whitman would have loved to have had one.

Nothing stops a criminal from making one. Nothing.

You mean criminals break laws? Impossible!
For real though, let's discuss the law, and not personal political agendas. If people want to pout about how there are too many guns in america, or how the laws are too loose, this isn't the place. There are plenty of leftist forums where such discussion will be very welcome.

Re: Good legislation on the move
Yes, it would be nice if people stayed on topic...
The WEAPONS forum is listed as follows:
" Vehicle weapons and static displays"
So one might infer that had something to do with vehicle weapons and static displays, not some distraction about how current POLITICS may allow for silencers suddenly becoming "legal" I guess....
There is a place for this stuff, down on the Fake Club Forum where it has generally been OK to froth and leave this forum to things like "Vehicle Weapons and Static Displays".....

Re: Good legislation on the move
Words have meanings, and the absence of words also creates a certain sort of meaning. It doesn't say "Only vehicle weapons and static displays." I would also note that suppressors are in the current military arsenal, and have been in use by the military for probably close to a century. Thus, they and their legal ownership are relevant to this forum, as are laws related to them.
If this topic bothers you so much, perhaps its advisable to ignore it and to move on to other posts. I think you've made your opinion known, so if that was your goal, you've accomplished it.

Silencers or suppressors have been in use by the US Army sense first invented by Hiram Maxim in 1899.In WWI there was an experimental one for the 1903 Springfield rifle for snipers.

Exactly. Any modern military weapon display should also include suppressors to be accurate.

Just put a threaded barrel on a Ruger SR22 pistol today in hopeful anticipation.
