Just a few thoughts on the subject from a retired cop. I have worked for 3 Sheriff Departments (6 different Elected Sheriffs) and one City (2 different Police Chiefs). Please understand, I am not complaining or jumping on a soap box. I am just stating my observations.

Usually, Authors come up with a topic, then find supporting information to prove their topic. Keep in mind what the goal is for the publication.

We need to remember Police Chiefs are usually appointed by the City Manager or Mayor. They (Police Chiefs) are not the most reliable source of information to believe when it comes to politically charged topics. I have always found Police Chiefs will mirror the political options of the head of the City. Usually, Mayors will call for firearms bans ect and the Police Chief will support Him/Her. The Chief will then assist the Mayor with His/Her agenda.

Police Department employees are not permitted to provide their opinion on anything that the City/Police Chief feels would cast a bad light or discredit the City/Police Department. This rule also applies to the Chief. The Chief is "an at will employee" and easy to replace.

County Sheriffs are a bit different. They are elected and usually possess the political and ethical beliefs of the population within the area (this includes the incorporated city areas within the counties). All three Sheriff's Departments I have worked for had different goals, ideas and methods of achieving their stated objectives. I always found it interesting that Sheriff will usually publicly side for the citizen to own and train with firearms.

The fact is, we have guns within our community and they are used for sport, home protection, hunting, varmint control (at my house). They are use as the nexus to create bonding between adults and children and it does not appear the firearm culture is going away.

I do believe we are failing our young people with regards to firearm safety. We don't teach it anymore. Schools say there bad, community groups say there bad. No one actually teaches firearm safety. Children don't need to shoot a gun to learn the basics. When something becomes taboo, the taboo item becomes desirable. Especially to children and young adults.

I was raised around firearms, it is a big part of my family culture. We were taught firearm safety from the day we could walk. I understand that this is not the case with other families within our community. But the truth is, the number of guns in a citizen's possession really does not matter.

Gun collections end up being large for a number of reasons. For insistence, I still own every pistol I carried on patrol. I still own guns I inherited (even though I will never shoot them), I still own guns I bought, then later found a replacement which fit me better (like people do with cars). This adds up.

To further complicate things, California Law is not nice to firearm owners trying to reduce the number of guns they own.

California Citizens are only permitted to sell up to 6 guns year (PC 12070 (c)). Anymore then 6 you will run the risk of being prosecuted as acting as an unlicensed dealer (even if you sell your guns on consignment at a gun shop).

So, in effect, Ca guns owners are more likely to keep unwanted guns then attempt to sell them legally. They are also not willing to stand in front of a Police Station, as reporters take their picture, during a "Gun Buy Back".

It is just not worth the hassle involved. So for now, more gun owners will end up having "large collections".

leftism , pervertism, anti "Western Traditional Liberalism", drug use - ism, anti- Christian beliefs, anti- Jewish beliefs, hatred of their own people who didn't fall in line,
the Nazi "mens "pride" club" , abortion, sterilization, extermination, hatred of the Bible's teachings, concentration camps,death camps, etc.
First they took over the press, then the schools, then the peoples lives, then the synagogues, then the churches, the universities, etc.
All traits and practices shared in common with well armed communists, nazis, socialists, fascists. They are all the same, left wing disasters that have plagued this earth.

From the same tree of hate and ignorance, but delivered with the barrel of a gun in Their hands.

Naturally all the suckers, aka citizens, aka victims, were all disarmed and had no weapons or legal system to protect themselves.

That always helps the above groups to carry out their evil plans.

Feel free to look it all up in actual history books written at the time and since then.

Have no doubt, that this is all the same coin, heads or tails, and will lead to the same results every time.

The sad thing is many of the things that the nazis and communists, (who by the way were put in power in Russia by the Germans in 1917),

and are given that respect, and rightly so.

In National Socialism, private enterprise is "allowed" to own property and the means of production as long as it serves the interests of the state.

Were the "R" side of the aisle really nazis, one of their first actions would be to disarm the populace.

I'm proud of the fact that I live in one of the few countries in the world, not to mention in history, where the state does not monopolize the means of force.

General Benedict Arnold was a much better general than Washington and won more battles against the British than Washington.Washington like Eisenhower was a politician not a good general as Washington was as well.Arnold was PO'd at Washington for not giving him command of American forces as he was promised so he tried to turn West Point fort over to the British.Our revolution was fought mainly by Americans with their own personal firearms.In fact Colonel Washing lost his entire command to the French in the French and Indian war and the only thing that saved him from court martial were the Virginia politicians.
