Interesting firearms owner statistic

Post by raymond » Fri Sep 01, 2017 4:23 pm

Personally, I'd like it to be 100x more :D
“My Trace colleague Jennifer Mascia pulled some numbers from the Small Arms Survey, which gauges gun stockpiles in the hands of civilians, law enforcement, and militaries around the world,” The Trace’s email blaster writes. “She found that with an estimated 270 million firearms owned by everyday Americans, civilians own 70 times more weapons than all police and military services combined.”

Well...to start with, your "Arsenal of Defense" in your Das Bunker would be worth much less....you know, "Supply and Demand"?

Well I see no need to put the market in a glut so it is good to stay this way. Florida does have a lot of bunkers but they are on golf courses.

Hello Raymond ,

Those are good numbers, but I agree with you, and your concerns.

I see it as a Civic Duty as an American, and law abiding citizen, to be an Armed Citizen, a responsible citizen of a Free country.
To have weapons available for your own use, for self defense, and for National Defense if needed.
Like the real Minute Men of New England, and the Colonial farmers and craftsmen who saw the dangers of their day.
I certainly do not view weapons as a monetary value issue at all, ever.

With all the antifa- nazi thug clowns running around, agitating for a rebellion and civil war, you never know how things will go.
If the US Justice Department doesn't crack down on the ignorant and violent thugs,
It will only get worse and spread further like what happened in the" civilized, wealthy, intelligent, country of Germany ".
People always said, how could that have happened, how could Socialist left leaning anti capitalist street thugs get political power and bring so much ruin to the world ?

Well in happened, and it happened fast !!!

If the civilian victims of the thugs had been armed, like we are here in the USA, then 2/3 of the German National Socialist Gestapo Army,
and collaborators would have been wiped out, while attempting the rounding up the Jewish People that they targeted, and the millions of others who were lost, all because they were unarmed, and unprotected by "society" when their own government targeted them.
If they were armed, they, and their descendants would have been around today,
instead of ending up being exterminated by the National Socialist street thugs, who gained the power of the government, that people said would never happen in a civilized country.

The US Army and British Army had to bulldoze the countless bodies of the unarmed innocent civilian victims , found inside concentration camps,
into pits at the end of the war, those that were not burned up by the national socialist thugs in their evil madness.

Look around the world, this is not a new danger, it has been around for the ages, and people need to be ever vigilant , in this modern, wealthy,
sophisticated world.
The dangers exist, and must be exposed and called out as they are seen and observed, because the same forces would do it again if given the power.

Have no doubt !

This is not a political issue, it is a Constitutionally protected Right for law abiding Americans.
Hopefully America can keep this country and the Constitution protected for All to enjoy and be happy,
and live prosperous lives in many ways .

Best Regards,

Ray

"Das Bunker" :?:

Typical :!:

When people of a particular persuasion can't or won't argue the merits, they label their opponent a NAZI.
Then it becomes acceptable to take matters in their own hands and go all 101st Airborne.
Steve Scalise anyone :?:

And the Chaser:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin%27s_law
Godwin's law (or Godwin's rule of Hitler analogies)[1][2] is an Internet adage that asserts that "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Hitler approaches 1.
For example, there is a tradition in many newsgroups and other Internet discussion forums that once such a comparison is made, the thread is finished and whoever mentioned Hitler has automatically lost whatever debate was in progress.[8] This principle is itself frequently referred to as Godwin's law.

Well...either police chiefs approve of having 100 times as many firearms in the hands of civilians as the police do.... or police chiefs do not approve of your wishful thinking. Which is it? After all, they have to face the bad guys every day.

I think their input on your proposal would be helpful.

Lots of armed citizens have helped save the lives of LEO's and/or captured dangerous felons. I'd call that a benefit to society.

Police officers being killed, wounded or maimed for life because low-lifes can obtain firearms so easily.... because they are EVERYWHERE probably does not make them sleep well at night. Anecdotal evidence to the contrary....

By the way, what is the rate of LEOs being shot in this country compared to other "civilized" nations of the world? What percentage of officers get shot in comparison? Does MORE firearms make LEOs safer or just make it easier for criminals to get them?

That is a more interesting firearms owner statistic....

I know, giving up some rights for the betterment of society is PITA for some...you know, like seat belts, auto insurance and laws against speeding...but they haven't caused a problem with driving for most people...the adapt, abide by the laws and get on with their lives. Hard-cases end up in trouble with the law as they should.

Romanticizing about the Old West in the 1870s or fanaticizing about taking over the government If you don't LIKE what the majority has ruled is ridiculous and the stuff of movies...Wyatt Earp had the right idea in that aptly named town of Tombstone.

PS...we already have a "police state"...its just a matter of which side you are on...
