Does anyone know anything about this spike? I bought it at a tag sale and the seller said it was produced only for the British/Canadian forces for D -Day.
The only thing I could find on the internet was a dealer selling one with this info:
This very rare and unusual Knuckle Duster was produce for the British for the sole purpose of the D-Day landings. They needed a knife that could be manufactured quickly and inexpensively, and so, this knife design was put into play. The spike was used on other British bayonets of that period. Clearly present on handle is the British Broad arrow which was stamped during its manufacturing process.

He says that style knife/spike are fantasy item. To me it seems like a lot of work to make something up like that.

Existing replica handle capability + existing spike bayonets = an easy way to get more money out of spike bayonet scabbards, frogs and blades. I've got to think that if these had been legitimate they would have been documented years ago?

Thanks for the info, I think they are fakes and never used in the wars!
