37mm breech block
I have one of the above, still in cosmolene.
What would it be worth?
Totally bare, no parts, it is just the machined block.

Re: 37mm breech block
Hello
For those who requested details of the block. See attached photos.
From description of the "semi-auto lugs" this looks to be an M6.
Regards
Doug

Re: 37mm breech block
Wow! What a Find ! NOS, Thats an M6 Breech Block for the M6 Gun that were in the Stuart Tanks and M8 Armored Cars. They have 2 lugs on the bottom of the breech face that stops the block from camming up to far. The M3 Gun recoils back 21 inches , The M6 Gun its only 9 inches Those lugs are a more positive stop . Don
Not so much a find as I knew I had it all along.
I was doing a shed clean up and was less than chuffed to find that the Cosmolene has over the years in the heat bled out over
the steel shelf. Had to tip it to make it unstick.
Now have to clean the shelf, always fun when Cosmolene involved.
I found this in a hedge along with some others in the early 1980s in a scrap yard. The timber crate was somewhat disintegrated.
I grabbed just one thinking "nice to have a spare, probably will never need it". Which was the case.
Thanks for the comparison info - always learning. I would imagine the Staghound and Grant/Lee used the same breech block?
