ACTIVE 4 TON DIAMOND T CARGO

Post by Joe Gopan » Sun Jan 07, 2018 3:30 pm

Last Active G-509 Diamond T I witnessed was at the ANG facility at Dow Field in 1960. It had a 1943 dated USAF Registration Number and was Yellow.
Last Active Duty G-508 I witnessed was a CCW GARBAGE PACKER that was assigned to Ft Devens , that was also 1960.
Last Active Duty G-506 CHEVROLET I witnessed was a cargo truck assigned to the MARS Radio Site at DOW Field in 1961.
Last Active Duty CCKW I witnessed was a K-52 Type Van assigned to the MARS facility at Dow Field. It made a couple trips monthly during the spring and summer weather from around 1952 and disappeared during the early 60's.

One of the operators of that CCKW was good friend Don Gaudreau who was assigned to DOW in the late 50's before being transferred to Wheelus AFB in Tripoli. Don passed away a few days ago.
