CCKW Closed Cab Doors

Post by halifaxgroup » Fri Nov 17, 2017 7:20 pm

I am rebuilding the doors on my 352 Closed Cab. The only item I am looking for is the correct beltline (waistline) weather stripping. This is the weatherproof stripping attached to the door, on each side, at the bottom of the window glass to keep rain from running down the glass and into the cavity of the door. I have gone through all of the most popular vendor sites, (Chevy of the '40's, etc.) but have not been able to locate the exact one for a CCKW. Each one is about 24 inches long. Turning to the beehive for some help. Thanks. Paul

I can't remember, but I seem to think that those from M-37 or M-35 May work. I'll check to see if I still have some to compare. What about Jim Carter, am sure I bought some from them.

I can call Jim Carter Monday to see if they have these listed as a prior purchase. It's been 11 years.

I did not use the seals from M-37 or M-35, what I installed were rubber strips that I believe were from Jim Carter and have also noted them on other CCKW doors.

There is only one set of seals on the Carter web site. Picture is useless, looks like two straight black lines. I will call them, hope I get someone over 30 to answer.

After some help from Warren and some research, here are some part numbers for Closed Cab CCKW doors.

Steele Rubber Products
Part#: 60-0047-73 Lower rubber strip for bottom of door threshold. Attaches to the cab, not the door.
Part#: 60-0566-58 Door Beltline Seal, also know as waistline seal (Scraper)
Part#: 70-2642-57 Weather strip, Door Window Glass Retainer. Used to seal the door roll up window metal strip on top and side of glass.

Best ordered directly from Steele. https://www.steelerubber.com
