G-506 Cargo for an Early Spring outting

Post by newc » Sat Feb 10, 2018 12:14 pm

Yeh; got her going and cruised until the tires got round again. Early Spring outing as 'she' will be making all the local shows after a two yr layoff. Lots of 'thumbs-up' and waves from the civilians. The 'ammo' crates and GI can cargo is a 10 year collection. All 12 volt with a '55 235 engine... did 50mph today no problems. It really like 40-45 though. Bed is a converted dump for now. Get'm out and drive'm guys. Newc in Oregon

Got me excited. Talked about an event in April for WWII Heritage Days in Peachtree City, GA. I was thinking of taking our unrestored G506 to the event to show the public the "before" version of military vehicles. Usually, all they get to see are the museum queens that we bring. It's hard to relate that we didn't find them in a barn that way.
Would like to get mine running, at least so we can get it on and off a trailer.

This photo is motivational.

Nice to see some images! She looks proud.

Waiting here for the spring thaw and for all of the salt on the roads to go away seems like an eternity...
