Hi Everyone,

I was in the process of cleaning out a section of my Grandfather's shop when I came across these:

There's 8 or 10 of them. Judging by the color and the vintage I'm pretty sure they were off my Grandfather's G506. With a little help from my friends and some heavy thinking we think they're corners for the hoops on a canvas top. Did we get it right?

Thanks,

K

You are likely correct. They sorta look like the Dodge WC style corners. Yours look a little larger, so G506 would be a good guess. Here is a look at the Dodge WC style on this page:

Thanks guys.

vj if I decided to part with them I'll let you know. I still have the wild idea that I'm going to go buy the G506 back (if the owner still has it).

I've got a lot miscellaneous parts kicking around. With those hoop corners I found a brand new set of brake shoes to. Not sure if they were for the G506 or for various other medium duty trucks he had.

Hi guys. I hope you don't mind me chiming in on this topic. Years ago I had a hard time figuring out exactly which bow corners were W.W. 2 issue and which were the later style for M-135, M-211, M-35 trucks. Then I was fortunate to have a complete set of troop seat Stanchions and Bow corners fall into my possession that were attached to the G-506 cargo bed I purchased. I had already purchased a complete set of Stanchions and Bow corners that I knew to be for the M-35 and newer series trucks.
So I grabbed two bow corners, one from each batch and made a comparison. The corners are very much alike except for the little triangular cut-out. The W.W. 2 issue corners have the triangle with a top point that is really "sharp" looking, where as the later model corners have a triangle with a rounded top point. The bow corner pictured appears to me to be later issue, M-135 and on. I don't know exactly when the leather straps for the cargo curtain were changed to nylon web, so I can't speak for that.
I had the later bow corners on my 1st. Chevy. They looked great and of course did the job they were manufactured for.
